Ms. Susan Dianne Whitley, age 60, passed away on Monday, March 18, 2024 at Riverview Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be held by the family at a later date.
Left to cherish her memory are her companion, Gary Harden; parents, Billy and Sybil Waddell; daughters, Misty (Chris) McCarver, Melissa (Bobby) Mitchell, Megan (Tyler) Roe; grandchildren, Chloe Holderfield, Makenzie McCarver, Brylie McCarver, Lily Mitchell, Denver Roe, Walker (Destiny) McCarver, and Zac McCarver; great-granddaughter, Paisley McCarver; sister, Kayla (Barry) Moore; and fur baby, Piper Jean.
Susan was of the Baptist Faith and attended Gaston High School. Susan worked for the Etowah County Board of Education as a child nutrition manager for 30 years at Gaston High School. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She adored everyone, especially her girls, Sonya and Tracy. She lived life to the fullest and anyone that knew her knows she always had fun. She was a bright light in this dark world. She loved to travel, she loved her job and all the Gaston kids she got to love on and feed.
In lieu of flowers, donations be made to St. Judes Children Hospital.
