Susan Johnson Yates, 67, of Uvalde passed away July 20, 2023, surrounded by her family at her home in Uvalde, Texas.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 24, 2023, at 10 a.m. at Rushing-Estes-Knowles Mortuary followed by interment at Hillcrest Cemetery in Uvalde.
Susan was a lifelong member of the Uvalde community. A member of First Baptist Church, a rancher, business owner and a hard worker who always had a kind word for everyone. Her smile was contagious and could light up a room. When it came to being a mother, she was the self-sacrificing kind and loved her children with all she had. She will be forever missed and in our hearts.
She was born March 28, 1956, in Uvalde, Texas to Beverly Knox (Turner) and Pat Settle Johnson.
She is survived by her mother, Beverly Johnson of Uvalde; sister, RJ Collins of Uvalde, two daughters, Audra Shaw and husband, Travis of Uvalde and Kelsey Yates of San Antonio; and grandson, Colson Turner Shaw of Uvalde.
She is preceded in death by her father, Pat Johnson.
