Susan Elaine Young

Susan Elaine Young, 78, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma entered her heavenly home on December 29, 2025. She left behind a life that mattered deeply and a space that cannot be filled. Susan was born on April 5, 1947 in El Reno, Oklahoma to Glenn and Maxine Webber.
She graduated from Westmar College, in LeMars, Iowa with a degree in Mathematics. She married her love, Bruce Young on June 6, 1969 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. She taught Mathematics for several years and retired from the State of Oklahoma as a Disaster Recovery Manager.
Susan lived with a heart for people, family, service, laughter and faith. She was known for her creativity, kindness, humor, strength and spirit of giving. She also had a way that made others feel seen and welcome. Whether it was attending cultural events with Bruce, bonding with her grandchildren, volunteering, studying the Word, playing cards with friends, or singing in the church choir, she was loyal and devoted in all she did.
Above all, Susan cherished her family. She was preceded in death by her parents and her granddaughter, Melaina. She is survived by her husband, Bruce; her daughters, Andrea Cunningham (Jeff), and Keri Metoyer (Eric); grandchildren, Emmaline, Gabriella, Jonah, Lukas and Holland; sister, Carol Hawley (Harry); and brother-in-law, Warren Young (Karen).
Those who knew Susan will remember and miss her colorful storytelling. Her life was a gift, and her love will continue to shape everyone she touched. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, January 5, 2026, 11:00 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 4400 North Shartel, Oklahoma City.
