Susann Patterson, 81, of Mashpee passed away on April 25, 2025, after a long illness.
She was born on August 18th, 1943, in Fitchburg Massachusetts to Betty and Russell Merrill. She was an honor student at Auburn High, in Auburn MA. After high school she was married and had three children, Lisa, Laurie, and Scott. In the late 1970's she started working as a bank teller and over her 35-year career rose to the rank of Bank Vice President in charge of commercial loans.
In 1994 she was married to Thomas Patterson and had almost 30 good years with him. For many years she served on the board of the Gosnold Rehabilitation Hospital and as a trustee of her church, First Congregational Church of Falmouth along with many other volunteer and charitable works. In her 7-year battle with ovarian cancer she showed remarkable courage and good humor. She will be missed.
Sue is survived by her daughters Lisa McMahon and Laurie Uwazany in addition to numerous grandchildren, step grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Patterson, and her son Scott Lundgren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, May 16, 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM, with a funeral service to follow at 10:00 AM at the First Congregational Church of Falmouth, 68 Main St., Falmouth, MA 02540. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, 46 Jones Rd., Falmouth, MA 02540.
