Susie Martinez Obituary
Beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away on November 30, 2025, at her home surrounded by her family. Age 70 years.
Affectionately known as Susie Q, the daughter of the late Jose and Mary (Martinez) Garcia was born on March 19, 1955, in Saginaw, MI. Susie loved dressing up and shopping for the latest fashion. She also found great joy in decorating her house and everything around her. Susie loved listening to music and dancing. Her radiant personality and infectious smile easily made her the life of the party. Her greatest joy was her family. She took every opportunity to be around her kids, grandchildren and friends.
She is survived by her son: Juan (Xochilt) Gonzalez; grandchildren: Alexandria (Mingo) Martinez, Gabriela Martinez, Erica (Markus) Martinez, Alfonso "Pa" (Angelica) Martinez Jr., Cecelia (Quinn) Martinez, Juan Gonzalez Jr., Laticia Gonzalez, Jesse Martinez Jr., and Lorenzo Pena; great-grandchildren: Leah, Cameron, Domingo "Tink", Alina, Quinn Jr., Gianna, Kyran "Mexican", Kayden "Big Eye", Camila, Alfonso III, Alani "Salami", Calize "Baby", Koda, Saniya, and Nico; siblings: Sally (Rudolpho) Ochoa, Joseph (Silvia) Garcia, Elizabeth Funez, Isaac (Maria) Garcia, Mitsey Nunez, David (Mary Lou) Garcia, Irene (Gero) Negrete, Greg (Rochelle) Vargas, and Jeff (Lisa) Garcia; comadres: Gloria and Richard Delgado, Angie "Vaca" Nino, and Cruz Cepeda; as well as many nieces, nephews, friends, Godchildren, and extended family.
Along with her parents, Susie was predeceased by her daughter Latisha Martinez, good friends Franny Ledesma and Rudy Cepeda, and great-grandbaby Angel Martinez.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday December 11, 2025, at W. L. Case and Company Funeral Directors, 4480 Mackinaw Rd., Saginaw, MI 48603. Pastor Augustine Delgado will officiate with burial to follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends are welcome to visit with the family at the funeral chapel from 3:00 pm-8:00 pm on Wednesday, December 10, 2025, where a prayer service will be held at 6:00 pm. Visitation will also be held Thursday from 11:00 am until the time of service. Those planning an expression of sympathy may make donations to the wishes of the family c/o Alexandria Martinez.
