Susie Phillips Obituary
Susie was born August 31, 1934, in Clayton, Georgia, the daughter of Ed and Mary (Brock) Jones. She married the love of her life, James Phillips who passed away in 2009. Susie was raised Rabun County and had worked as a nurse's aide at Ridgecrest Hospital. She enjoyed cooking, fishing, gardening and canning. She was also a longtime member of Taylors Chapel Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Tim Phillips (Amy) of Lakemont, GA; four daughters, Brenda Bryson (Wayne) of Ramseur, NC, Donna Rogers (Randal) of Lakemont, GA, Janet Yarnall (Joseph) of Lakemont, GA and Charlotte English (Roger) of Clayton, GA; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren; and a special neighbor and caretaker, Linda Hopkins.
She is preceded in death by five brothers.
Visitation will be Friday, May 19th, 2023, from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM prior to the service. Funeral Service will be held Friday, May 19, 2023, 12:00 PM at Eastside Chapel of Hunter Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Burrell officiating. The family will receive friends from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM prior to the service. Burial will follow at Flat Creek Baptist Church in Lakemont.
