Funeral services celebrating the life of Susie Simmons, 72, of West Monroe, Louisiana, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, January 4, 2025, in the chapel of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe with Rev. Kevin Stewart officiating. Interment will follow immediately after at Mulhearn Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home, West Monroe. Visitation will be held from 9:00 A.M. until the time of service.
Susie was born on May 29, 1952, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed away on December 28, 2024, in Monroe, Louisiana.
She was a mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend who dedicated her life to her family. Susie loved to sew, quilt, embroidery and to read. She loved the Lord and reading her bible.
Susie was preceded in death by her parents, Al and Ruby Johnson; sister, Ree Quaid; and brother-in-law, Vernon Quaid.
Those left to cherish Susie’s memory are her loving husband, Gary Simmons; daughter, Kristi Edwards and husband Jodey; son, Kevin Simmons and wife Cristie; grandchildren, Devin Davis and husband Austyn, Ethan Edwards, Ella Grace Edwards, Casey Simmons and wife, Maddy and Conner Simmons; great grandchildren, Ryder Simmons and Halle Davis; brother and sister-in-law, Bruce and Donna Simmons, as well as numerous family, friends, and loved ones.
Pallbearers will be Joe Hall, Casey Simmons, Conner Simmons, Ethan Edwards, Austyn Davis, and Jerry Chestnut.
Memorials may be made to McClendon Baptist Church.
