Suzanne M. Carranco, age 83, resident of San Marcos, Texas passed away on Friday, November 22, 2024. She was surrounded by her four children, brother, and sister.
She is survived by her four children, Laura Griffiths and husband Shane, Sarah Vasquez, Greg Carranco and wife Cathy, and Michael Carranco.
Grandchildren Jenifer Griffiths and husband Jaylen Sierra, Briana Griffiths, Amanda Telles, Isaac Vasquez, Andrew Carranco and wife Hannah, Christina Servais and husband Joseph, Stephen Carranco, Bailey Carranco, Lilliana Ruiz, Jayden Ruiz, Aida Banda, Natalie Vasquez, and Ashley Yanez.
Great grandchildren Theodore Servais, Maisie Servais, Wren Sierra, and Mateo Griffiths. Suzanne is also survived by brother Tommy Medrano and wife Mary, sister Julia Lozano and husband Raymond.
Suzanne is preceded in death by her husband Joe Carranco, father Guadalupe Medrano, mother Maria Ignacia Nombrana Medrano, brother Joe Medrano, sister Rachel Morales, sister Beatrice Short, and sister Alice Gaitan.
Suzanne was born in Fentress, Texas. She graduated from San Marcos High School in in 1960. Upon graduating she then attended beauty college in San Antonio, Texas. She married her husband Joe Carranco in 1967 and had four children. Suzanne was a hairdresser for 55 years in San Marcos and began her first job at Modern Beauty Shop. She then went on to work for Mrs. Gary at Vanity Beauty Shop. Once Mrs. Gary retired, Suzanne kept Vanity Beauty Shop going and opened a new location at her home. There she enjoyed styling hair and getting to build lifelong friendships with her customers.
Suzanne will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Serving as Pallbearers will be Andrew Carranco, Stephen Carranco, Angelo Carranco, Shane Griffiths, Jayden Ruiz, and Jimmy Medrano.
Visitation will be held at Pennington Funeral Home on Friday, November 29, 2024, 5:00-8:00pm, with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, November 30, 2024, 10:00am at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 624 E. Hopkins St., San Marcos, Texas. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park, 19106 San Marcos Hwy, Martindale, Texas.
