Suzanne Kay (Dewus) Hader passed away surrounded by her loving family on November 20, 2024, in Dousman at the age of 89.
Sue was born on July 21, 1935, to Clarence and Irene (Peck) Dewus in Milwaukee, WI. She found true love with James Hader, and they married in 1955. Together, Sue and Jim went on to have four children- Terri, Kathi, Steve, and Tim.
Sue loved being at home where baking and cooking were her forte. Most days she could be found in the kitchen, whipping up treats and meals for family and friends. Streusel buns, sweet petal bread and coffee cake were oft requested favorites. When not in the kitchen, Sue could be found watching birds and deer eating at her backyard feeders and cheering on her favorite sports teams, especially the Brewers and Northwestern Wildcats.
Sue may have been best known for her impeccable sense of fashion, perfectly coiffed hair, and always perfect make up and nails. And, of course, for her sassy and spunky attitude, her aptitude for a good argument, and her absolute love of young people everywhere.
Sue is survived by her loving children, daughter Kathi (Keith) Martin and Tim (Joan) Hader, her sister Sandi White, and sister in laws Margaret Hader and Donna (Dave) Scheidegger. She is also survived by her grandchildren whom she loved dearly- Megan (Chris) Harrell, David (Sarah) Grex, Michael Grex, Kirstie (Michael) Liberatore, Erin (Wade) George, Shelby Hader, Jessa (Nick) Victor, and Jack (Emily) Hackman. She was additionally blessed with nine great grandchildren- Ashlynn Link, Ryan, Payton, Madynn and Brooklyn Grex, Quinn Grex, Kate and Ava Liberatore, and Harlow Victor. Further survived by other cousins, nieces, great nieces, great nephews, and dear friends.
Sue was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Irene Dewus, and by her husband Jim, daughter Terri, and son Steve.
Services will be held at Pagenkopf Funeral Home (NEW LOCATION: 2228 N. Silver Maple Lane, Oconomowoc, WI 53066) on Saturday, December 14, 2024, 12-1 pm visitation, followed by a 1 pm service and luncheon.
The family wishes to extend their deepest gratitude to the many kind and caring caregivers at Three Pillars Senior Living Communities and Allay Hospice who so lovingly supported Sue in her final years of life. We can never come close to repaying their kindness, and they will be forever in our prayers for the important work they offer.
In lieu of flowers the family kindly requests that you consider instead a donation to the Wisconsin Humane Society or Women's Center of Waukesha, both charities that Sue strongly supported.
