Suzanne Kindrick, age 82, of Gatesville, passed away on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, surrounded by her family.
Graveside services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Lamb Cemetery, near Mound, with Pastor Matt Dossey officiating. Visitation with the family will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 1, 2023 at Scott's Funeral Home.
Linda Suzanne Kindrick was born to the late Otha and Sarah Jane Bone Johnson on September 9, 1940 in Gatesville. She grew up and attended school in Gatesville. During her high school years, she met Joe Walker Manning, and the two were married on December 31, 1957. After obtaining her GED, she attended nursing school, graduating in 1981 with her L.V.N. certification. She began her nursing career at Coryell Memorial Hospital, helping deliver several of her grandchildren. After several years, she accepted a position with the University of Texas Medical Branch and later retired in 2006. From there, she continued to follow her passion for being a nurse and worked with special needs children until 2015.
She was very proud of her four children, but even more proud of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She loved sports of all kinds and was a huge fan of the Dallas Cowboys and Gatesville Hornet football and baseball. She also had a soft spot in her heart for animals, as she loved them all.
Suzanne is survived by her children, Douglas Manning and wife, Talitha, Craig Manning and wife, Sharon, Kenneth Manning and wife, Debra, and Denise Mooney and husband, David; eleven grandchildren; and 29 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, Suzanne’s family request memorials be made to Coryell County Pet Rescue, 2217 E. Main Street, Gatesville, Texas 76528.
A special heartfelt thank you is also extended to Rehab Living at the Meadows and to Bluebonnet Hospice for the excellent level of care that was provided to Suzanne and her family.
