Suzanne Lynn Osman

The first experience of chocolate my daughter Flora had came from none other than her fun, chocolate-loving Aunt Suzanne. Flora was about 16 months old and Suzanne felt it was a good idea. How could I say no? Suzanne is so missed and will never be forgotten. We love you, Suz.

I first met Suzanne when I interviewed at Salisbury University. We were happily surprised we had sons the same age and then floored when we realized they were both named Jack! Over the years, we watched our kids grow up together at birthday parties and play dates. As a new faculty member, I considered her an invaluable mentor. My husband, Michael, and I went to Suzanne and Karl for advice ranging from Michael´s job opportunities to navigating maternal leave. Suzanne and Karl were so caring and supportive through some of my major life experiences: when I had my second child, when I was preparing for tenure, and when my mother passed away. I will miss my friend and colleague, and our department will not be the same without her.

Suzanne & I have been friends since kindergarten (over 50 years). We were referred to as "Frick & Frack". I'm so sad that she is gone.

When we were little & visited grandma Sally & grandpa Jack´s, me and Suzanne made up this whole world of "little people" who lived inside the bathroom hamper and heaters (the hamper was attached to the wall-as it was an older Brooklyn apartment) It was quite intricate and involved many characters and story lines. It´s funny because we both came up with it together as if the little people were real and we both knew they lived there!

On a visit to Eli and Norma when the girls were small, Mara started a game , running from room to room with the others following and laughing. Amy, still just a toddler, came last. Suzanne, who was just behind her sister, turned around and saw that Amy was falling further back. So she went back and gently took Amy´s hand and together they trundled on through the rooms. I have never forgotten that loving gesture.
We wish we could be with you tomorrow but please know that that we share your tears.
