"Death is but a passage, a threshold between time and eternity. For those who place their faith in Christ, it is not an end, but the beginning of a glorious reunion."
Suze Eloi Jean-Joseph was an extraordinary woman who embodied grace, love, and unwavering faith. Born on November 20, 1973, she profoundly impacted everyone she met.
Her warmth and spirit were magnetic. Suze was an illuminating and an inspiring woman. Her influence remains cherished, urging to embody and share the love and grace she so effortlessly exemplified.
Even as a teenager, Suze had assumed the role of a mother to her younger siblings, Eddy and Margalie, after their father returned to Cabaret, leaving her responsible for their care. Despite her youth, Suze dedicated herself to nurturing and protecting them. She always maintained a strong connection to her roots, often traveling to her father's hometown to deliver essential provisions for her younger siblings. She was a remarkable person, selflessly prioritizing her family's needs. Even in her youth, her sense of responsibility and deep love for those around her were evident.
In 1992, Suze left Haiti for Saint Martin, where she welcomed her cherished son, Yvenson Monprousse. By 1999, she had moved to New Jersey, driven by her passion for education. Suze achieved remarkable success, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), then a Registered Nurse (RN), and ultimately earning a master's in nursing to become a dedicated Nurse Practitioner. Her journey exemplifies her commitment to her family and profession.
On August 24, 2003, Suze married her beloved partner, Johnny Jean-Joseph, whom she affectionately called her God-given angel. His unwavering devotion provided her comfort until her last breath. Together, they had two daughters, Jessica and Danabelle Jean-Joseph, who were the greatest joys of her life.
Suze also had a two-year-old granddaughter, as well as two sisters, Wilda Eloi and Margalie, and three brothers: Windsor, Ronick, and Eddy Eloi. Through her extended family, she embraced siblings Germaine Lavache, Pastor André Lavache, Edith Lavache Douyon, Marie-Ange Lavache Exantus, Magalie Lavache Jean-Pierre, Milot O. Lavache, and DePatrick Lavache, all of whom share in her legacy of strength and love. Suze also shared a deep and familial bond with her brothers-in-law, Pastor Olvic Exantus and Lesly Douyon, and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Lavache and Emilienne Lavache, who were not just in-laws but true siblings to her.
Her passing was marked by grace and love. In her final moments, she was not alone. Her heart was full, surrounded by those who cherished her, as she prepared to meet her Savior.
To all who knew her, Suze embodied authenticity, loyalty, and compassion. With her elegant style and zest for life, she would often say, "One life to live," always eager to create memories for herself and her loved ones.
We do not mourn in despair today, as we take comfort knowing she rests in the arms of her Savior, waiting for the day of resurrection. Her legacy of love, faith, and strength will forever inspire us.
Rest in peace, my beloved sister. Until we meet again.
