Svend Schmidt Obituary
He was raised in Miami, Florida. He often spoke of the many happy memories he had of the boatyard his father owned on the Miami River.
An engineer in his professional life, he began his career with ARINC in 1956 incorporating radio technology for air-to-ground airline communications. He retired in 1992 and spent the next 34 years enjoying hobbies like golf, travel, woodworking, crossword puzzles, and cooking, alongside his beloved wife, Myrna.
He is survived by his children: Keith William Schmidt, Katrina Schmidt Whaley, and Lori Parker Coté; 10 grandchildren: Lisa Schmidt, Keith Schmidt, Karin Pullen, Kevin Schmidt, Kristopher Schmidt, Hamilton Whaley, Ruby Dunaway, Alayna Schmidt, Kelsey Côté, and Kelli Schmidt; 15 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Myrna Carol Schmidt, and his sons, Sven Robert Schmidt and Thomas Alan Schmidt.
His love and humor will be greatly missed.
