Sybil Honeycutt Stanton, 94, of Fayetteville, died Thursday, January 13, 2022 at Carolina Inn, Fayetteville, NC with her family beside her.
She was born in Durham, NC, the daughter of the late Charles R. Honeycutt, Sr. and Mamie Brock Honeycutt. They later moved to Hamlet, NC where she grew up and met her husband William Duncan Stanton, Sr.
Sybil and Duncan were charter members of Westminster Presbyterian Church, Village Dr, Fayetteville. She was the last surviving charter member of the church. She was an Honorary Life Member of the Presbyterian Women of the Presbyterian Church. After her retirement from City Optical, she volunteered at Cape Fear Valley Medical Center for 25 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Duncan Stanton, and three sisters.
She is survived by sons, Bill Stanton and wife Beth of Wilmington, NC and Jeff Stanton and wife Brenda of Rural Hall, NC; four grandsons, Billy Stanton and family, Jeffery Stanton and family, Eric Stanton and family, Ryan Stanton and family; and 12 great grandchildren; a brother Charles Honeycutt, Jr. and wife Peggy of Hamlet, NC.
A graveside memorial service will be held at Lafayette Memorial Park, Ramsey St, Fayetteville, on Saturday, February 5, 2022 at 1:00PM
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Westminster Presbyterian Church 2505 Village Dr. Fayetteville, N.C. 28304

Sybil was a lovely lady - I knew her from Church and she was a mild mannered, extremely neat and always looked so pretty. I last saw her at a local beauty shop and she was just as neat that day as ever. God Bless her Family who will miss her tremendously.
