HAD THE PLEASURE OF MEETING SYDNEY AND MRS. CHAPLIN AT THEIR COUNTRY CLUB HOME IN THE DESERT WHEN I WAS THERE REGARDING A BUSINESS TRANSACTION. MRS. CHAPLIN SAID SHE HAD BEEN HIS BEVERLY HILLS BANKER. SYNDEY DID A PERSONALIZED AUTOGRAPH FOR ME WITH A CARICATURE OF HIS FATHER. I COULDN'T HELP BUT NOTICE WHAT A FRIENDLY COUPLE THEY WERE. JUST FINISHED WATCHING A DOCUMENTARY OF "THE FORGOTTEN YEARS" VERY GOOD FILM FOR UNDERSTANDING THE CHAPLIN FAMILY ROLE IN OUR LIVES.

To the family of the funny, funny, man. We use to watch him on TV often. He is truly missed. Isaiah 66:13

WEEP NOT FOR ME

Lita Grey was my father's distant cousin. I played one game of tennis with Sidney when we were teens and I visited him with the Padilla girls. He was very patient as I was really green at the game.

Celebrating a life well lived. We will cherish the memories forever.

Margaret, we send our deepest condolences. And our prayers and thoughts are with you. We will always cherish the fun, laughs, trips, golf tournaments, "CHAPLINS", his singing, our time in Ireland together & of course his magnificent career. He always made us laugh. We are proud to be called his friends. We are here for you!

My mother was a great fan of your father's and our one treasured heirloom is a note he wrote to her. Because of her admiration of your father, I too, became interested and have done much reading about your family, and the many wonderful and difficult events throughout your lives. Rest In Peace.

May the love of friends and family carry you through your grief.

My wife and I had the privilege of seeing him perform in “Bells are Ringing” and “Funny Girl”. It was a magical theater experience we will always remember.

I feel I have lost a blood brother. We were in basic training, WW II. Your tremendous sense of humor & storytelling helped those in our company get through it. You bought my breakfast (broke G.I.) w/
your winnings in a crap game on our return train trip to L.A.

Sydney, you will be missed. Say hi to your mom and pop.

What a wonderfully talented man. he will be remembered for what he contributed in life. He will be remembered also because his passing causes you his family to miss him.
