Sydney R. Limerick
TUPELO- Sydney R. Limerick, age 76, passed away on Monday, June 23, 2025 after an extended illness. He was born on March 7, 1949 to Marie and James Limerick in Meridian.
Sydney received his Master’s degree in mathematics from Mississippi State University before going on to work as a technology executive until his retirement.
Sydney married his lovely wife Deborah in 1971 and enjoyed every bit of their life together until her passing. Their unity was a huge part of his life as her side of the family was extremely important to him.
He enjoyed many activities including, traveling, golfing, and going to social events. He spent leisure time cruising and watching the stock market. He was known by family to prioritize his organizational skills.
Sydney was an honest man; full of integrity. He will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
Sydney is survived by sister Denine Jones and her husband Alan of Petal; brother Thomas Limerick and wife Frieda of Dadeville, Alabama; brother-in-law Dwain Brown and wife Diane of Booneville; sister-in-law Linda Sweeny and husband Donnie of Saltillo; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and special friends.
Sydney is preceded in death by his parents and wife, Deborah Limerick from Booneville.
Services will be 11 a.m. Saturday, July 5, 2025 at All Saints’ Episcopal Church with Rev. Phillip Parker officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital at 501 St. Jude’s Place, Memphis, TN 38105 and www.stjude.org.
