To the Fatha family:
May the consoling words from family and friends continue to strengthen you during this difficult time, and may you find comfort in the words found in the Holy Scriptures: "And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore. The former things have passed away."

May the wonderful memories of your loved one continue to provide a measure of comfort to you--until God's promises are fulfilled. Matthew 5:5; Psalms 37:11, 29

Dear family of Syed Fatha,

I am sorry for your loss. In memoriam for Syed, I have made a quilt block for the 911 quilt project

The quilt will eventually represent each dear victim of the terrible tragedy.

When I looked at the long list of names of victims, Syed's stood out to me. I researched and found out about his 6 children in India (may God bless them) and his Muslim wife here in the USA (may God be with you). I was touched by hearing about this kind and gentle man who prayed at the mosque near the WTC daily.

Although I didn't know him, I have told his story to everyone I know. People shake their heads in sadness at the unnecessary loss of a good life.

May peace be with his family. May his family know that all good Americans mourn his loss.

America Cries

We see your sorrow-

and our hearts cry....

We can not erase your pain

but you do not have to face the anguish alone-for we-

-the American people-

are beside you.

We so desperately want to have the touch that brings you comfort,

the strength that gives you courage,

and the words to lighten your spirits.

And when we are left speechless

may the silence of our nation weave love into your hearts

to ease your sorrow.

May you find healing through our nation's strength as we-

-the American people-

face this difficult time together. Our hearts are with you. Teresa Jahn
