Together they raised three daughters: Karen Crane (Rick), Alisha Stewart (Daniel Swafford), and Amber Dunn (Ryan). He is also survived by his sister Joyce Berry (Andy), and brothers Ralph Dellis Elders and Gary Elders (Wanda).
Syle was a proud grandfather to six grandchildren: Zachary Crane, Xander Crane (Alex), Abby Stewart (Dakota), Eli Stewart, Maggie Dunn, and Raylon Dunn. He also leaves behind many treasured friends and extended family members.
In his early years, Syle enjoyed ginseng hunting and cruising in his cherished '63 Impala. His passion for nature led him on countless adventures out West with his dear friend David Lee Williams, exploring and fishing for over 25 years. Known for his quick wit and playful spirit, Syle was a jokester who loved wrestling with his grandchildren and spending time in the barn, farming, gardening, and caring for his loyal dogs, Rico and Skye.
A man of faith, Syle was a devoted member of Watauga Baptist Church, where he found community and spiritual strength.
