Sylvester Hubert Kreuser, 93, peacefully passed away on February 15, 2025 at his home in Hartford.
Syl was born in Hubertus, WI on April 11, 1931. He married his loving wife Georgianne in 1952. He proudly served in the US Army and spent his career as an electrician with Staff Electric. He was a member of St. Kilian parish in Hartford, Knights of Columbus, and American Legion. He retired in 1993, and he and Georgie enjoyed living as snow birds in Sebring, FL for 25 years before returning to Hartford full-time.
In his free time, Syl enjoyed playing golf, hunting, fishing and reading. He especially loved spending time with his family, including 10 children, 17 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
Sylvester is survived by his wife of 72 years, Georgianne (Breuer) Kreuser, children Linda (Marty) Polzin, Tony (Vicki) Kreuser, Donny Kreuser, Dave (Lisa) Kreuser, Dawn Everett, Steve Kreuser, Stacy (Dale) Gleneck, and Ken (Tina) Kreuser. He is further survived by grandchildren Kim Wolf, Kristy Knight, Tiffany Stapleton, Sara Ford, Dana Karlson, Brooke Greene, Rene Spurrier, Tyler Muesch, Rob Giencke, Kyle Polzin, Derek Kreuser, Joe Kreuser, Hannah Furr, Lauren Kreuser, Lily Gleneck, Emma Elertson and Andy Gleneck, along with his great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren, sister Sally (Wallace) Rusniak, nieces and nephews, and many friends.
Syl was preceded in death by his parents Joseph and Mary Kreuser, his parents-in-law Anthony and Elizabeth Breuer, daughters Laurie Giencke and Debbie Kreuser, son-in-law Jack Everett, and siblings Joe Kreuser, Hubert Kreuser, Louise Held, Ollie Kreuser, Helen Neu, Marie Whipple, and Fritz Kreuser.
The family would like to thank the staff at Amedisys Hospice and Caring Hands Home Health Care for their compassion and care for Syl and his family in his final days.
A Celebration of Syl's life will be held on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at St. Kilian Catholic Church (236 W State St., Hartford, WI 53027). Family will greet relatives and friends from 9:00 a.m. until the start of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Rev. David LaPlante will be officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Kilian Catholic Church.
