Sylvia Gail Durden

Sylvia Gail Durden, 66, of Bladenboro went to her eternal home on Saturday, April 30, 2022. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chester and Viola McKenzie Durden, brothers, Stanley Durden, Frank Durden, Junior Durden, Tommy Durden, Johnny Durden, and Curtis Durden and one sister, Agnes Love. Left to cherish her memory are sisters, Jeanette Lupo, Lois Godbold (Jack), Betty Davis (Mike), sisters-in-law Micky Durden and Pam Durden, and a host of nieces and nephews she cherished.Sylvia loved people and animals. She enjoyed lending a helping hand whether you were family, neighbor, or patron on her mail route. She loved the outdoors. You could often see her doing woodwork, riding the tractor planting the garden or tending to her fur babies. Sylvia was a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service of Bladenboro, and she was an active member of the Hickory Grove Baptist Church. She was a strong, independent, and sincere lady who will be missed.The family will receive friends from 2-3 pm on Tuesday, May 3, 2022, at the Hickory Grove Baptist Church followed by a funeral service at 3:00 pm. Burial will follow the services in the Hickory Grove Cemetery.
