Rivera Family Funerals & Cremations of Santa Fe and Santa Fe Memorial GardeSylvia Patricia Felix, a beacon of warmth and kindness, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2025, in Santa Fe, New Mexico, at the age of 84. Born on November 29, 1940, in Colville, Washington, Sylvia was a cherished mother, grandmother, and friend who left an indelible mark on she encountered.
A dedicated Spanish teacher for several decades, Sylvia nurtured countless minds at the high school level in Albuquerque and at the Santa Fe Community College. Her passion for education was matched only by her love for travel, gardening, and the serenity of the beach. To her students, she was not just a teacher but a source of inspiration, encouraging curiosity and fostering a love for the Spanish language through her engaging lessons and infectious spirit.
Sylvia was characterized by a personality full of life—always smiling, laughing, and ready to lend an ear. She had a curiosity about the world and was deeply caring towards those around her. Her hallmark kindness endeared her to many, creating lasting friendships and inspiring those fortunate enough to share in her journey.
Sylvia’s legacy is lovingly carried on by her devoted stepdaughters, Maria Vecere, Laura Findlay, Teresa Felix, and Karla Ortega, as well as her stepsons, Ricardo Felix, Philip Felix Jr, and David Felix. Blessed with a large family, she also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who will remember her for her love, laughter, and the joy she brought into their lives.
She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Philip Felix, and her cherished grandson, Jesse Felix, who have preceded her in death. Their memories will live on in the hearts of her family and friends who will forever treasure the moments shared with Sylvia.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate her remarkable life at a memorial service taking place on November 24, 2025, at Rivera Family Funeral & Cremations of Santa Fe, followed by a burial at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Sylvia's life was a testament to love, joy, and the impact one person can have on the world. She will be deeply missed, but her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives she touched.
