Sylvia Lou Hester

Sylvia L. Hester, 87, of Port St. Lucie, Florida passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022, at the Tiffany Hall Nursing Home, Vitas Hospice Care Facility. Sylvia was a native of Sebring, Florida and lived in Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach County, Florida for close to 50 years of her life. Sylvia attended Palm Beach High School in West Palm Beach, Florida. She was married for 32 years to the late Michael J. Hester, Jr., and was a homemaker while her girls were in school. She then went on to work for many years with the American Cancer Society of West Palm Beach. Subsequently, she went to work for two prominent attorneys as a legal assistant in Lake Park and then in Jupiter, Florida for over 10 years. Sylvia enjoyed being with her family and many friends. She loved people, travel (especially the Gulf Beaches of the West Coast of Florida), cooking, sewing, and ceramics. Sylvia spent many years dancing in a Square-Dancing Club at the Lake Park City Hall. She was a Christian and loved the Lord and Jesus Christ. She was the daughter of the late Raymond H. and H. Lucille Clark.
Surviving are three daughters, Janet Fillyaw of Murphy, North Carolina, Karen Costello of Stuart, Florida, and Tracey Dubé of Palm Beach Gardens, Florida; one sister, Marilyn Johnson, of Indianapolis, Indiana; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
