Sylvia Gail (Naylor) Lach, 80, a lifelong resident of Dracut, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 22, 2024, at Massachusetts General Hospital, Boston surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Joseph W. Lach with whom she shared 62 years of marriage.
She was born in Lowell on February 8, 1944, and was the daughter of the late Samuel and Mildred (Lahde) Naylor.
Gail was raised in Dracut and was a graduate of Dracut High School. She worked for the IRS and Pollards Department Store before her marriage to Joey and raising her family. Later in life, Gail worked in the Dracut Public School System in the cafeteria, becoming manager at the Dracut High School cafeteria. She then earned her CDL license and drove a school bus for the CTI program in Lowell until her retirement in 2010. In her spare time, Gail enjoyed spending time with the "Coffee Girls" who were her longtime friends from high school. She enjoyed gardening, yard work, and listening to Elvis Presley. Most of all, Gail cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
In addition to her loving husband, Gail leaves her children, Joseph W. Lach, Jr. and his wife Ellie of Methuen, Laurie Lach and Donald Nadeau of Dracut, and Leslie Baron and her husband Daniel of Chelmsford; her five grandchildren, Shaun, Mark, Edward, William, and Elizabeth; and her great grandson Dawson.
Sadly, she was predeceased by her brother Herbert Naylor.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, December 27, 2024, from 10 am – 12 pm at the Dracut Funeral Home, 2159 Lakeview Ave., Dracut. Her funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Friday at 12:00 noon. Interment to follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Methuen.
