Sylvia Jean Painter

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Sylvia Jean Painter, age 85, of Rising Sun, MD, who left this world on December 24, 2025. Born on January 27, 1940, in Herndon, WV, Sylvia lived a life full of love and devotion to her family and friends.

Sylvia is survived by her daughter, Sherry Cline, and her husband, Dwain, sons Gary Wayne Rinehart and his wife, Kathy Lyn, and Randall Lane Rinehart and his wife, Wanda Ann. She will be deeply missed by her brothers, Jerry Ray Green, Larry Dale Green and his wife, Alice Ann, Jimmy Darrell Green and his wife, Jean. She is also survived by her sister, Dreama Gaye Conrad; nine beloved grandchildren; three cherished great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Sylvia was a source of strength and kindness to all who knew her, leaving behind a legacy of warmth and compassion. She found great joy in reading, sewing, crocheting and crafts, often sharing her talents and creativity with those she loved.

A memorial service to honor Sylvia's life will be held at a date and time yet to be determined.

Sylvia Jean Painter’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of those who loved her.

Sylvia was preceded in death by her husband, John F. Painter; her parents, Kilby Green and Effie (Whitt) Green; her siblings, Carol jane Smith (George), Denver Mason Green (Dora), and Georgia Lee Green; her sister-in-law, Sandra Lee Green; and her brother-in-law, Kenneth Conrad.
