Gerri Christiansen

Thelma Geraldine “Gerri” Hixson Christiansen, 97, passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter on January 7, 2025 in Virgin, Utah. She was born August 23, 1927 in Salt Lake City to Joseph William and Velma Holindrake Hixson. She married Heber Hal Christiansen on March 17, 1947 in Elko, Nevada. The marriage was solemnized May 7, 1960 in the Manti Temple. He preceded her in death on December 25, 1991.
A member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Gerri was a wonderful teacher to the youth in Primary and Young Women. She was also a member of the Daughters of Utah Pioneers.
Gerri loved people and people loved her. She made friends wherever she went. She loved to be with her family and enjoyed attending all of their special activities. She loved to go swimming in Richfield and enjoyed being with her swim mates. She loved to meet up with her friends in Central and enjoyed spending quality time with them.
Survived by her children: Linda (Larry) Ellertson, Lindon; Karen (William, deceased) Parsons, Richfield; Barbara (Kevin) Stout, Virgin; Joe (Pam) Christiansen, Monroe; Robyn Christiansen (Brant Reed), Virgin; 13 grandchildren, 42 great-grandchildren and 18 great-great-grandchildren; sister, Leona Ward, Idaho Falls, ID.
Also preceded in death by parents; son-in-law, William Parsons; siblings: Roy, Ralph, Marge, John, Robert, Dorothy, Edna and Josephine.
Funeral services will be held Friday, January 17, 2025 at 11:00 a.m. in the Central Valley 1st Ward Chapel. Viewings will be Thursday evening from 6-7 p.m. at the Magleby Mortuary in Richfield and Friday morning at the church from 9:00 - 10:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Richfield City Cemetery.
