T.G. Curd Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home and Crematory on Mar. 4, 2026.
T.G. Curd Jr., 85, passed away on March 4, 2026, in the farmhouse where he was born.

Born May 31, 1940, in Hazel, Kentucky, he was the son of the late T.G. Curd Sr. and Thyralee Wilcox.

T.G. was a carpenter by trade who not only built houses but also crafted beautiful pieces from wood. He loved the outdoors, spending time fishing, hunting, or tending a garden. His greatest pride was his farm, where he raised tobacco and cattle while piddling with his own farm work inventions. T.G. was known as a great storyteller. If he gave you a nickname, you knew you had a friend for life.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two infant children, Christian and Latina.

He is survived by his daughter, Celisa Cunningham (Bro. Ricky); his son, Trace Curd (Amy); and his longtime companion, Nancy Mieure. Grandchildren include Kiki Cannerdy (Chad), Kory Cunningham (Katie), Chaney Horn (Andy), Emma Curd, Trendon Curd and one step grandchild, Alec Strieter (Jordan). Great-grandchildren include Crider, Finley, Garnett, and Evie Kate Cunningham. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolyn Byars and Suzanne Wilkins (Phillip); his brother, Keith Curd (Pam); along with several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. at the Heritage Chapel of Imes Funeral Home, 1804 State Route 121 S., Murray, Kentucky 42071.

A private family burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Meals on Wheels, 607 Poplar St, Murray, KY 42071
