T. Larry Lynn, a lifelong farmer and beloved "mayor" of the Lynntown community, has passed away on December 16, 2023, at the Community Hospice Inpatient Center in Vidalia. Born on September 26, 1942, in Collins, he was the son of Talmadge and Valdorie Hutcheson Lynn.
Larry graduated from Collins High School as part of the class of 1960 and went on to dedicate his life to farming. He had an unwavering passion for working the land and nurturing it into abundance. His commitment to his craft served as an inspiration to those around him and earned him the respect and admiration of the entire farming community.
In addition to his career as a farmer, Larry was known for his quick wit and love for telling jokes. He had an incredible ability to bring laughter into any room he entered, brightening the lives of those fortunate enough to hear his humorous anecdotes.
When Larry wasn't tending to his farm or sharing laughter with others, he enjoyed indulging in one of his favorite hobbies—coon hunting. He found solace in nature's embrace as he embarked on thrilling adventures with his trusted companions by his side. Coon hunting provided him with an escape from the demands of everyday life and allowed him to connect with both nature and himself.
In his passing, Larry is reunited with his parents, his wife of 56 years, Patricia “Pat” Lynn, his sister Wanda Jean Morgan, his son-in-law Roy Jones, and a nephew Louie Lynn.
He is survived by his children: Karen (Glenn) McMillan, Tammy (Michael) Stephens, Richard (Donna) Lynn, and Lisa (Jared) White; all residents of Collins; brother, Harry (Ann) Lynn of Collins. He also leaves behind a legacy of love in the form of 14 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews
