T.R. Fehrenbach

My condolences to the family of this master Texan storyteller. He will be greatly missed. What a blessing he is to those of us in love with history - a great American, a marvelous Texan!

We will miss this true advocate of all things good about Texas. He was a wise colleague and good friend during our work together with the Texas Historical Commission. His writings have enriched us all.

We are sorry to hear of the passing of T.R. Fehrenbach, born in the home of San Benito founder Col. Sam Robertson. May he & we rest in the peace that he left a lasting legacy.

Thus passes one of the best Texas historians. His revelations have made many aware of what constitutes the unique Texas psyche and how it came about. His survivors should find some consolation in that his works have affected so many. A life well lived.

Ted will be missed by those that knew him. Fortunately, his great wisdom and keen insight will live on in print.

Viva Texas! He will be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of you husband's passing this morning. Please know you are in our thoughts and prayers.

RIP, kind sir. I read two of your books and recommend them to everyone who will listen.

Our very most sincere condolences to Mr. Fehrenbach's family. I had the opportunity to work with him on occasion and he was always welcoming, congenial, and nurturing to his younger colleagues. He will be missed.

Fehrenbach now belongs to the list of great Texas writers and historians that have left us such as Graves, Webb, Bedicheck and Dobie.
