Tabitha Freeman Obituary

Published by Legacy on Oct. 13, 2025.
Tabitha Leigh Nikole Freeman, 15, of Taylorville, IL, passed away on October 7, 2025. She was born on March 11, 2010, in Springfield, IL.

Tabitha will always be remembered for her free-spirited, creative and loving personality. From a very young age Tabitha always had a love for her family, animals and all things unique. She could always be found expressing herself through her wild hair colors, writing and art. If Tabitha wasn't caring for her family and friends, she had a strong passion for caring for all of God's creatures that came around her. Tabitha always did all she could to help anyone she knew whether you were an important person in her family and friend circle or a new person who just needs a shoulder to cry on. Her light will always shine, even though she was taken from us too soon. She will be missed by many and was loved by all.

She is survived by her loving parents: Scott Flemming II and Jamie Freeman of Taylorville, IL; siblings: Trevor Freeman-Oller, Tessa Freeman, Tyler Johnson, and Talia Johnson, all of Taylorville; grandparents: Mark and Diane Freeman of Taylorville, IL; Scott and Tanja Flemming of Morrisonville, IL; Dennis Robertson of Freeburg, IL; aunts and uncles: Hannah Freeman of Springfield, IL; Josh Flemming (Myrian Narciso) of Atlanta, GA; Ashley Flemming (Emyle Bartley) of Waterloo, IL: Katie Flemming (Richie Mental) of Springfield, IL; Brandon (Raquel) Flemming of San Antonio, TX; Brooklyn Flemming (Brad Bruner) of Springfield, IL; Brian (Beth) Van Vaghel of Waterloo, IL; Michael Freeman of Auburn, IL; Micele Calvin "Uncle Blueberry" of Chesterfield, MO; James Harris of Taylorville, IL; cousins: Amaya, Mikayla, River, Abby, Carter, Aiden, Ryleigh, Hayven, Isaac, Lincoln, Luna, Kelly, Leighann; as well as her Godparents: Courtney Staten of Hubert, NC; and Jack Daughtery of Taylorville, IL.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandparents: Katie and Benjamin Robbins, James and Janice Freeman, Erica Van Vaghel, Frank and Bonnie Flemming; aunts: Jana Freeman and Tracy Freeman; uncle: Dane Freeman; as well as several beloved pets: Sally Mae, Saphire, O'Malley, Rengoku, Hela, Nyx, and Eos.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 15, 2025, from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at Calvary Baptist Church in Taylorville, IL. A memorial service to honor both Tabitha and Trinity will begin at 7:00 p.m. with Pastor Chad Zueck officiating.

The family wishes for those attending to wear colorful clothing or anything with Hello Kitty to commemorate Tabitha's fun and vibrant personality.

Memorials may be made to Tabitha's family to assist with expenses.
