Talmadge Eugene Dozier, age 87, of Westville, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on October 7, 2025.

Born on November 8, 1937 in Noma, Florida to Elzie Dozier and Esther Taylor Dozier, Gene lived a life marked by faith, humility and gentleness. He was a man who found his greatest joy in studying the Word of God and living out its truth each day. His quiet strength, steady kindness and Christ-like heart touched everyone who knew him.

Gene faced life with grace and patience, always believing that goodness and faith would see him through. He was a devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend - someone who offered wisdom through scripture and love through action.

He was preceded in death by Elzie Dozier, Esther Taylor Dozier, Chelsea Shreffler, Zachariah Shreffler, Marie Taylor and Lovey Taylor. He is survived by Tammy Dozier, Camille Scott, Theresa Shreffler and spouse Andrew, Andy Shreffler, Alexandria Shreffler, Kaleb Shreffler, Bill Dozier, W.D. Dozier, Shelton Dozier and spouse Darla, James Dozier and spouse Crystal, Gerald Dozier and spouse Sandy, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever cherish his example of steadfast faith and unconditional love.

A service to honor his life will be held on Thursday, October 16, 2025 at 11:00 at Peel Funeral Home with Prophet Bill Dozier officiating. Visitation will be held before. Graveside service will follow at Noma Cemetery. Flowers are welcome and appreciated.

The family would like to thank Gail Dozier, Buddy Martin, April Gordon, Bailey Family Medicine, Dothan Hematology & Oncology and Bonifay Nursing and Rehab Center for their compassion and support.

Above all, Gene will be remembered for his faith, his goodness, and the love he so freely gave. The family finds comfort knowing that Gene is now at peace in the presence of his Savior, the one he faithfully served and loved throughout his life.

"Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord." Matthew 25:23
