Tamara Reiss Fulford was born in Mobile, AL on August 29, 1940. She passed away on Thursday, April 24, 2025 in Mobile, AL at the age of 84.
Tamara was Valedictorian of her 1958 Murphy High School class. She helped to carry on the family clothing business in Mobile, Reiss Town & Country, that was started by her grandfather. After marrying Jim Fulford, Tamara left Mobile for a bit. While living in Dothan, she became the first female president of Temple Emanu El and went back to school. She earned a degree in computer science later in life and continued to enjoy learning new technology.
She loved throwing parties and sharing family recipes. Her favorite place to be was on Fowl River enjoying beautiful flowers and watching the birds. Her spirit, wit, intellect and love of family will be greatly missed.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Fulford; her first husband, Dr. Frank Skinner; her stepson, Roger Skinner; her father, Jacob Reiss Jr.; and her mother, Sarabel Prince Reiss.
Tamara is survived by her daughter, Tami DePonte (Lou); her granddaughters, Sara and Jenna; her son, Frank Skinner (Michael Magnon); her brothers, Norman Reiss (Amelia) and Jacob Reiss III; her stepson, Edward Fulford (Nancy); her step granddaughter, Leah (Mark Manderson); along with numerous family members and wonderful friends.
A graveside service will be held at Biloxi National Cemetery on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 1:30 pm.
