Tammy graduated from Camden-Frontier High School, Class of 1988. She had a long career of serving others and her community working as a dispatcher and EMT for Reading Emergency Unit, Hillsdale Township Fire Department, Hillsdale County Sherriff Department, and Hillsdale County 911 Central Dispatch. During that time, she also drove school bus for Reading Community Schools. Tammy will be remembered for her love of scrapbooking, boating, fishing, spending time in her "she shed" working on crafts and most of all she loved spending time with her grandkids. She was a member of the Hillsdale American Legion Riders & Women's Auxillary for the Hillsdale Post 53. She also was a member of the Hillsdale Free United Methodist Church.
Tammy is survived by her husband, Mike and their eight children, Brooke Schmucker, Allison (Russell) Stewart, Theresa Rubley, Tonya Blair, Gerri (Eddy) Villa, Robbie (Mel) Woods, Michelle (Jay) Losey, and Brooke (Dan) Drake; 18 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Maryjean Dulmadge, Cindy (Tyler) Winwright and Krystal (Michael) Korkames; and brother, Fred (Sarah) Anstead.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Timothy Winkle and Mary Catherine Anstead.
Funeral services for Tamera "Tammy" Rose will be held Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 11:00 AM at the VanHorn-Eagle Funeral Home in Hillsdale with Pastor Brandon Dengler officiating, followed by a fire truck led procession to Bankers Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
