Tammy Rae Baxter

Dear Family and Friends of Tammy,

I was deeply saddened to hear of Tammy´s passing. Although I never had the pleasure of meeting her in person, I felt as though I knew her well through our many exchanges in the horse racing community. Under the name "Stormy Peak," Tammy was a constant source of joy and thoughtful engagement. She had an infectious spirit and a genuine warmth that came through in her messages. Her words of encouragement often arrived unexpectedly, making my day brighter in ways she probably never realized.

Tammy had a knack for connecting over the smallest things and making them feel meaningful. I´ll never forget how we once bonded over a horse I named after the Korean word for cow. My wife, who was adopted from Korea and loves K-dramas, was delighted when Tammy and I started exchanging ideas for horse names inspired by that genre. Those conversations, lighthearted yet thoughtful, are a cherished memory that speaks to Tammy´s ability to make connections across cultures, interests, and distances.

On the racetrack, Tammy was a fierce and fun competitor. She always seemed to have a chestnut turf router that was just a little bit better than my horses, and she had an eye for talent that I came to admire. Beyond her success, though, she taught me something more valuable-how to appreciate the good horses you get and enjoy the journey of racing them. I know there were those who thought she kept her horses on the track longer than they should have been, but Tammy´s philosophy was one of deep appreciation, savoring the moments and memories that only a great horse can give.

For the rest of my life, whenever I see a chestnut mare power down the turf course and surge to victory over a distance, I will think of Tammy. Her spirit and her passion for the sport will live on in those moments, a quiet but lasting tribute to someone who gave so much to those around her.

Please know that Tammy was appreciated more than words can express, and her warmth and kindness touched many lives, including mine. I will miss her thoughtful messages, her competitive spirit, and the joy she brought to this shared love of racing.

I, as well as many others knew Tammy only as Stormy on the Sim. She had so much compassion for others. She loved animals especially and helped as many as she could despite her own health. I will always remember an email she sent me. It touched me to the core as I know she has touched others. She will be missed, but she is free of pain now and caring for others in heaven. May her memory be a blessing to each of us.

I, like many here, knew her as "Stormy" - one of the most consistent and active members of simhorseracing. A wonderful person with whom I shared many stories and triumphs of our digital wonder horses. I'd wanted to meet her in person but it never came to pass. I will miss her.

I met her through simhorseracing, we talked a lot on and off game about horses, music and life. She was a huge support when going through difficult times in my life the last several years. Such a kind person always willing to help. I hope she's not hurting anymore I know HaHa and Song were waiting on her, and hope sweet AU is doing well. My thoughts are with all of her family at this time.

I like others only got to know Tammy (Stormy) from simhorseracing. She made the game a better place by bringing in such enthusiasm and positivity. I also loved hearing her stories of helping animals through the year. She was clearly a loving and compassionate person. I'm so sorry to hear about her passing and send my condolences to her family.
