Tammy Jo Brecht

Tammy Jo Brecht, 55, passed away November 14, 2018. She was born in Angola, IN on August 21, 1963. Tammy graduated from IVY Tech as an LPN. She worked in Home Health care for several years and enjoyed working with the elderly, retiring from Bright Star. Tammy voluntarily worked for the VFW and American Legion and was an active member of both. She was passionate about helping veterans and their families and volunteered a lot of time raising money for veteran's charities. She enjoyed traveling and visiting Mexico. Tammy will be remembered as a truthful woman who you could always count on to tell it how it is. Surviving are her husband of 6 years, Don Brecht; sons, Jathan (Haley) Delucenay and Adam Delucenay; step children, Tonya Houchin and Donald (Elizabeth) Brecht; three grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchildren; sister, Lisa Kurtz; parents, William and Sharon Brown; and mother-in-law, Alice Brecht. She was preceded in death by her father-in-law, Eugene Brecht. A celebration of life memorial service will be held on Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 1:00 PM at American Legion Post 47, 601 Reed Rd., Fort Wayne, IN 46815. In lieu of flowers Memorial contributions may be made to American Legion Post 47. Services entrusted to D.O. McComb and Sons Maplewood Park.
