Tammy Sue Dunaway

Tammy Sue Dunaway, 54, of Monett, MO, passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025 at her home after a decline in health.
Tammy was born on September 13, 1971, in Joplin, MO, daughter of David Mitchell Sr. Joyce (Smith) Mendenhall. She received her education from Commerce High School, Commerce, OK. Tammy took pride in being a homemaker and enjoyed being surrounded by family, her beloved dogs and the excitement of a good day at the casino.
Tammy married Nick Dunaway on January 31, 1994 in Miami, OK. They have been blessed with over thirty-one years of wonderful memories made together.
She is survived by her husband Nick of the home; father, David Mitchell Sr. of Woodland Park, CO; two sons, Skyler Burleson of Miami, OK, Christopher Dunaway of Belton, MO; two daughters, Meagan Dunaway of Nixa, MO and Marilynne Seymour of Independence, MO; one stepson, Anthony Dunaway and wife Jaymie of Pittsburgh, KS; three grandchildren, Pheobe Dunaway, Bentlie Zook, Keplyn Zook and Scott Seymour; one sister, Tonya Baysinger of Rush Springs, OK; and host of extended family and friends.
Tammy was preceded in death by her mother, Joyce Mendenhall; and one brother, David Mitchell Jr.
A celebration of life service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 15, 2025 at Temple Baptist Church in Monett. Arrangements have been entrusted to Buchanan Funeral Home, Monett, MO.
