Tammy Meddock Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Midlothian Funeral Home on Mar. 3, 2026.
Tammy Meddock, born Tammy Simmons on the 13th of March, 1959, in Dallas, Texas, was a radiant beacon of love, loyalty, and spirited dedication. Her journey on Earth, although it has come to an end, left an indelible mark on the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Tammy's life was a testament to the words in the Book of Proverbs 31:25-26, "Strength and honour are her clothing; and she shall rejoice in time to come. She openeth her mouth with wisdom; and in her tongue is the law of kindness." Tammy embodied these qualities in every aspect of her life, from her personal relationships to her lifelong career as a hair stylist.

Tammy was a dedicated hair stylist for 17 years, serving her clients not just with skill, but with heart. She spent her childhood in the warm embrace of the Oak Cliff and Duncanville communities, making precious memories and indulging in fishing trips with her beloved father. These moments were dear to her heart and shaped her into the loving and spirited woman she was. Later in life, Tammy extended her dedication to her family's business, A-1 Appliance, showcasing her loyalty and unyielding commitment to her loved ones. Tammy was not just a family member or a friend, she was a steadfast rock, a beacon of comfort and support to those around her.

Tammy is survived by her sons, Jason LaPlant (Angela) and Craig Davidson (Lynna), her loving mother Juanita Simmons, her cherished grandchildren Kailyn Godwin, Christopher Armstrong, and Lena LaPlant, her sister Sherrie Freeman (Lorne), and her ex-husband Larry LaPlant. She was preceded in death by her dear father Joe Simmons and her beloved sister Pamela Lamb, and her son Joshua LaPlant. Her life and legacy will be honored at a visitation to be held on Saturday, 07 Mar 2026 at 1:00 pm CST at the Midlothian Funeral Home, followed by a graveside service at the Midlothian Cemetery at 2:00 pm CST.

Tammy's life was a beautiful tapestry of love, loyalty, spirited energy, and dedicated service. She will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. We invite you to share your memories of Tammy and upload photos that captured her unique spirit on her memorial page. Your tributes will serve as a testament to Tammy's unforgettable life and the love and joy she brought into our lives.
