BUHL – Tamera “Tammy” Lynn Severa, 66, of Buhl, passed away peacefully Sept. 23, 2023, at St. Luke’s Magic Valley Hospital with her loving family by her side.
Tammy was born Sept. 16, 1957, in Twin Falls to Margaret and the late Jim Givens, joining her older sister, Jody and later welcoming her younger sister, Jamie. Growing up, Tammy and her sisters enjoyed teasing and tormenting each other as children. Tammy graduated from Buhl High School in 1975.
Tammy married the love of her life and high school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Severa, on June 6, 1975, and spent the last 48 years married as his “better half.” Tammy wholeheartedly believed, and demonstrated daily, that children were the biggest blessings in life, and she and Bob were blessed with raising a son, Tony Severa, and daughter, Abbie (Severa) Quesnell.
Working together in different roles at Green Giant and Seneca in Buhl, Tammy and Bob poured their hearts into providing growth opportunities and support for their children. They both enjoyed actively participating in Tony’s and Abbie’s sports and activities throughout their young lives, and Tammy captured every milestone moment in elaborate scrapbooks for them.
Tammy enjoyed hosting family gatherings, going out to local events, buzzing with laughter and conversations in her community, and was an avid reader of the Buhl Herald newspaper to stay engaged with the latest news, her peers, families and neighbors.
Creative beyond measure, Tammy shared her crafting talents in sewing, drawing, painting, and more. She believed in paying it forward, which she did regularly with her own acts of kindness and caring. Tammy’s passion was in cultivating love in her children, family, friends, coworkers, neighbors, and strangers, and that is the lasting impression and impact she’s left in so many hearts.
Tammy’s children and grandchildren describe their beloved mom and grandma as compassionate, joyful, caring, radiant, thoughtful, loyal, and one-of-a-kind, the wonderful kind that glows with warmth and lights up the dark for others. Her love for family was as fierce as she was fiery with her unexpected, funny zingers often directed at Bob; some serious, but most a part of their continuous teasing banter and devoted adoration for each other.
Tammy leaves her loving legacy to be carried on by her mother, Margaret; sisters, Jody and Jamie; husband, Bob; son, Tony and daughter-in-law Ineke; daughter, Abbie and (Matt); eight grandchildren, Kennedy, Kelsey, Anika, Kendal, Colton, Quinn, Elliette and Addylynn; and nieces and nephews.
A viewing will be held from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm, Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Farmer Funeral Chapel, 130 9th Ave. N, Buhl. A celebration of Tammy’s life will be held at 1:00 pm, with a viewing beginning at Noon, Wednesday, Oct. 4, 2023, at First Christian Church of Buhl, 1005 Poplar Street, Buhl. A graveside service will follow at West End Cemetery.
