Tana Le Stinger Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Zeyer Funeral Chapel - Nampa on Jan. 13, 2026.
Beloved Wife, Mom, Nana, Grandma, and Great-Grandma, Tana Custer Stinger went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, surrounded by the promise of eternal life.

Tana was a devoted mother to three children, a cherished grandmother to nineteen, and a proud great-grandmother to eighteen. Her life was deeply rooted in family, faith, and love.

She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Todd Stinger; her sons, Sean Custer and Pat Custer, and their spouses; and her daughter, Tricia Hayek, and her spouse. She leaves behind a legacy of faith that continues through her many children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

Tana was born in Hillsboro, Oregon, and raised along the shores of Santa Cruz, California, where her love for life and family began. At the age of 17, she married Jack Custer, and together they welcomed two sons, Sean and Pat. In 1968, the family moved to Spokane, Washington. After their divorce, Tana returned to California, settling in Lake Tahoe, where she later married Jim Davidson, Tricia's father. Following another divorce, Tana returned to Spokane in 1978.

That return marked a turning point in her life. Reunited with an old friend, Carol Serpa, Tana was introduced to the Gospel and accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior. She became a member of Pines Baptist Church in Spokane, where she was lovingly mentored and supported by the women's ministry. Those women prayed faithfully-and very specifically-for a Christian husband for her, trusting God's plan.

God answered those prayers in a remarkable way.

Todd Stinger, then serving in the U.S. Navy and living 3,000 miles away, returned to Spokane on leave in May of 1979. Through a series of divine connections, Tana and Todd-who had previously dated and nearly married in 1972-reconnected. Through months of letters and phone calls, Tana shared her faith with Todd, and he, too, accepted Christ as his Savior. Todd proposed later that year, and they were married on January 1, 1980, at Pines Baptist Church in Spokane.

Their marriage took them across several homes during Todd's Navy service and civilian career, including Post Falls, Idaho; Spokane, Washington; and Nampa, Idaho. Together, they built a life grounded in faith, perseverance, and enduring love.

Tana has now moved to her final and eternal home-Heaven.

"See you again, my love, when He calls me Home."
