Tanna Cofer Davis, 76, of Cleveland, TN passed away on November 14, 2025 at her home. Tanna was known in her hometown of Cleveland, Tennessee having attended many schools throughout her young life. She was a graduate of Bradley County High School with the Class of 1967. She was proud of being a part of this class and would be the first to tell you about serving on Student Council and could show you her pin! You could often see her outgoing personality shining through that would give her the greatest gift of all, a job in advertising with radio and television. Tanna had opportunities to call on clients that turned into lifelong friends she would call "family." It was one of her proudest accomplishments to be successful "salesperson" in an industry that was historically dominated by men.
If you knew Tanna, you knew her love for politics. She was an advocate, believer in "True Blue Politics" to whoever she supported. She led convoys of people, traveling to many districts in the area to get the "right person" in various offices. Following her son's football program with Bradley Central also added to her joy(s).
Later in life, Tanna became a "Nana Tanna" after all and if you knew her, you knew she loved being "Nana Tanna" and some of her last words here on earth were addressing her grandson, "Nick Nick."
The legendary Tanna Cofer Davis we will hold dear to our hearts. We hope her memory will encourage everyone to say "Hello," and be kind to one another, who knows if that will be your last moment. That new friendship could carry you the rest of your life. God is love but friends were forever, in Tanna's heart.
"Nana Tanna" absolutely loved to see her grandson, "Nick Nick" every time she could. His accomplishments as grand or small made her the proudest. To her the last days as struggling as they were, he was by her side.
In the end of her life she was getting older, having health issues, and ultimately a terminal illness. She was a fighter, survivor of colon cancer and then diagnosed with ALS, which ultimately ended her life. The love you have and the time with her was always appreciated.
She is preceded in death by her mother and father, Robert and Wilba Cofer; brother Franklin Holland Cofer.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her daughter Tanna Jo Davis Nicodemus (Pete); grandson Nicholas Holland Nicodemus; siblings: Dennis H. Cofer (Pamela), Sherry Cofer Johnson, Val Cofer, sister in law Susie Cofer; estranged son William Bradford Davis (Candi) and his children William Zane Davis and Jack Emmett Davis; numerous nieces nephews, and cousins; and she is also preceded in death by one ex-husband (twice) Joe Stephen Davis.
