Tanya Lynette Turner, 62, of Albemarle, passed away Friday, March 7, 2025, at Tucker Hospice House in Kannapolis.
Tanya was born May 19, 1962, in Stanly County, North Carolina to John Frank Turner and the late Margaret Owens Turner.
She was also preceded in death by maternal grandparents John and Ruby Scott and Fred and Mamie Turner, all of Albemarle.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 am - 10:45 am, Monday, March 10, 2025, at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle. The funeral service will be on Monday at 11:00 am at Hartsell Funeral Home of Albemarle in Albemarle, officiated by Rev. Jon Ferguson
Survivors include father, John Frank Turner of Albemarle, Aunt Flossie Darnell of Rock Hill, SC, Aunt and Uncle Sharon and Gordon Mason, Mt. Gilead, NC, Aunt Cathy Turner, Albemarle, and her best friend, Traci Blackwelder of Albemarle, NC. (Traci is an angel who walks among us. Her love, kindness, and support will never be forgotten). She is also survived by her wonderful work family at the North Carolina Department of Adult Correction in Albemarle, who were all "special friends" too numerous to mention. The family wishes to thank neighbor, co-worker, and dear friend Brian Sanders for taking good care of her and always on the spot when the need arose, Paula and Mike Jones for accepting Tanya's beloved fur baby, Caroline, and to "The Warden," who she not only challenged every day at work, but also admired, respected, and loved. Also, a special thanks to Tucker Hospice House, Kannapolis for their love and support.
