Taras "Terry" Shot

Irondequoit – On March 8, 2026 at age 82. He is predeceased by his wife, Romana; brother, Ihor "Bud" Shot. Terry is survived by his sons, Gregory Shot, Nicholas Shot and Daniel (Sara Ferguson) Shot; cousins, nieces, nephews and many devoted friends.

Terry immigrated from Ukraine at age 6 with his parents and brother. They settled in Brant, New York and later moved to Rochester, where Terry attended Edison Tech where he met many life-long friends.

Terry enrolled in the Navy as a Corpsman stationed in Key West then later transferred to the Marine Corp in Camp Lejeune. He met Romana at a wedding and they married in May of 1970. Terry worked at Kodak for the majority of his career as a Tool Maker.

Terry loved hosting friends and family at home or at the cabin, where he would always have a drink ready and a good game of Euchre. He enjoyed perfecting his recipe for borscht, sausage and kapusta. Terry was an integral and committed contributor to the St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Arts and Crafts Festival.

Family and friends may call at Paul W. Harris Funeral Home, 570 Kings Hwy So., Sunday, March 15, 2026 from 4:00 – 7:00 PM, where a Panachyda Service will be held at 6:30 PM. His Funeral Mass will be held Monday, March 16, 10:00 AM at St. Josaphat's Ukrainian Catholic Church, 940 Ridge Rd, Rochester, NY 14621. Interment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
