Ted Guevara Obituary

Published by Porter Loring Mortuary McCullough on Nov. 4, 2014.
TED V. (VALENTIN) GUEVARA NOVEMBER 1, 1943-NOVEMBER 4, 2014 Ted V. (Valentin) Guevara passed peacefully in his sleep on Tuesday morning, November 4th, 2014, just days after his 71st birthday. He passed after a very brief battle with an aggressive cancer secondary to chronic lymphocytic leukemia. Ted was born on November 1st, 1943, the son of Eva and Valentin Guevara, whose passing preceded his own. He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Jo Guevara and their children, Samantha and Christopher Guevara. He is also survived by his daughter, Wendy Malone, and his grandson, Christian Malone. Ted is survived by his 3 siblings, Cindy Sanchez, Jose Guevara, and Jim Guevara. Ted served honorably in the Air Force for nearly four years, after which he had a long career with the Civil Service at Kelly AFB. We will remember him for his ability to tease a smile from any face and to tell a great story. Always smiling, he will leave nothing but great friends and loving family in his wake. He lived more than one man's share of life, and he will never be forgotten. Visitation will be on Saturday, November 8, 2014 from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm, with a brief memorial service at 7:00 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
