NEW MADISON -- Ted L. Heiser, age 78, of New Madison, OH passed away on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. He was born October 31, 1944 in Byron, GA to the late Lawrence and Wanda Heiser. Ted was a graduate of Celina High School. He was an Ohio State Highway Patrolman for 26 years and later retired as a bailiff for the Darke County Court System. He enjoyed fishing in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan with his children and grandchildren. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by granddaughter Savannah Heiser; brothers Carl Eugene Heiser and Dan Heiser. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Pam Heiser of New Madison; son Jayme (Michelle) Unger of Richmond, IN; son Scott (Traci) Heiser of Eaton; Jeff (Heather) Heiser of Eaton; grandchildren Kayden Unger, Derek Heiser, Megan Heiser, Erica Heiser and Grant Heiser; great grandchildren Trent and Presley Heiser; and numerous nieces, nephews and step grandchildren and step great grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, December 21, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 1:00 pm at the Gard Funeral Home, 226 W. Main Street, Eaton, OH with Pastor Doug Baker officiating. Burial will follow at Mound Hill Cemetery in Eaton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959. I worked at County Court when Ted was the Bailiff. He was a gentle giant, serious when need be but having so many good times and laughs together as well. Sympathy to the family in his passing.

I only worked with Ted for a short time before he was promoted and our paths never crossed again. I am sorry that didn't happen. But I will never forget him.
