Mr. Ted Walton was born on September 26, 1942, in Bolivar, TN to the late Charles and Mabel Shinault Walton. Ted was united in marriage to Melbalene Davis on July 1, 1966. His beloved wife preceded him in death on April 23, 2022, after sharing 55 years of marriage together.

Ted Walton was a diligent and hardworking man throughout his life. He pursued various occupations including welding in Memphis, working at the Tannery in Bolivar for over a decade, and dedicating 18 years to the Tennessee Department of Transportation. Despite his busy work schedule, Ted also managed to pursue his passion for farming, raising cattle and growing produce. He was particularly known for his delicious watermelon, squash, and cantaloupe, often selling them from the back of his truck.

A faithful member of Curtis Hill Church of God Prophecy, Ted was actively involved in church activities. He brought joy to many by dressing up as Santa for numerous years during church events. Known for always carrying a peppermint in his pocket and having a humorous nickname for everything.

Ted cherished spending time with his grandchildren, creating lasting memories through playing baseball, engaging in imaginative games like "Doctor Papaw," and giving them rides around in the Mule. His determination and strong work ethic were exemplified by his mantra of "Never Quit," which guided him through life's challenges.

On April 29, 2024, Ted Walton peacefully passed away in Bethel Springs, Tennessee at the age of 81 years, 7 months, and 3 days. He is survived by his loving daughters, Kim Horner (Richie) and Debra Isbell (Glenn) both of Bethel Springs, TN; four grandchildren, Clayton Isbell, Colton Horner (Ali), Katie Isbell, Brandon Horner; two great-grandchildren, Nicky and Neely Horner; two sisters, Margaret Vance and Janie Jones both of Bolivar, TN; three brothers, Robert Walton, Fred Walton (Barbara), Thomas Walton all of Bolivar, TN; a special brother-in-law, Johnny Davis (Martha) of Spencer, IN; as well as a large extended family and many friends.

Ted will be remembered fondly for his dedication to hard work, love for family, playful spirit with grandchildren ,and unwavering commitment to those he held dear. His presence will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
