Teddy Rucker Obituary
He was born October 19, 1965, in Hot Springs, Virginia, the son of the late John Curtis Rucker, Sr. and Eva Marie (Keyser) Rucker.
Teddy was employed as a painter at The Omni Homestead in Hot Springs.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. Teddy loved spending time with his grandchildren, painting, and remodeling. His love for the outdoors included hunting and fishing.
He is survived by his wife, Gloria Jean (Criser) Rucker; grandchildren: Haley Lee, Hannah Lee; great grandchildren: Brylee, Emma, Jolene, Madison, Jennifer, Molly; a brother; John C. Rucker, Jr. & wife Terry; a sister; Donna & husband Robbie Weaver; brother-in-laws, Roderick Ottey & Steve Criser; a sister-in-law, Cindy Folks; nieces and nephews; Ryan Ryder & fiancé Tabitha Jack, Heather Ryder, Hunter Ryder & girlfriend Kelsie Morris, Nathan Hunt, Brenden Ryder, Reagan Ryder, Rosser Ryder, Mackenzie Weaver, Taylor Weaver, Johanna "Jodi" Rucker, Charles Rucker, and other numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Teddy was preceded in death by, a son; Aaron Lee Rucker and a sister; Jackie Ottey.
A funeral service will be conducted at 12:00 p.m., Friday, August 1, 2025, at McLaughlin & Young Funeral Home with Pastor Bill Gram officiating with Pastor Shannon McCubbins assisting. Interment will be in Union Chapel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Arnold Newcomer, Gary Hickman, Sr., Cory Hickman, John Lane, Jason Woods, Jeffrey Hamilton, & Zack Ryder. Honorary Pallbearers will be Clyde Burns plus family & friends.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
