Tena Arcana Schilling

Tena Arcana Schilling passed away Monday, August 22, 2022, at the age of 87 surrounded by her loving family who adored her. She was the beloved daughter of the late Frances LaMarca Arcana and Dominick Joseph Arcana. She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn Joseph Schilling whom she shared 42 years of marriage "with never a dull moment", granddaughter Madison, and brother Joseph Arcana. She is survived by her loving children Dawn Schilling, Danielle Schilling, Glenn Schilling Jr. (Simone), Kellie Schilling Levy (Patrick) Son #2 Brett Guggenheimer, and her bonus daughter and "trusted advisor" Deborah Martorana. She is also survived by her pride and joys, her grandchildren, Cameron Lee Director, and Ella Rose Levy who meant the world to her and she to them. She also leaves behind a long list of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends all of whom she considered family. Tena was born in New Orleans where she attended St. Leo the Great grammar school and St. Mary's Dominican High School. She was also a maid in the Elenian's Italian Social Club. After marrying Glenn and having her children, she devoted her life to raising her family with a love like no other. She loved gardening (could grow anything) crossword and board puzzles, "making lists" and shopping. She especially loved celebrating holidays and decorating. Every square inch of her home was decorated for the occasion, by her, and you could feel the love and thought she put into everything. Moderation was not a word in her vocabulary. Tena was a great listener and many called upon her for her wisdom and honest opinion and her support was unwavering. She was an avid Saint's and Pelicans fan and enjoyed watching the games with family and friends. Her faith was strong and she said her prayers and rosaries daily. Her prayer list was long but always for peace. To say she will be missed is an enormous understatement and her abundant strength and love will remain with us forever even though our lights will be dimmer. She showed us all what perseverance looks like and we are blessed to have had her as our mother. We love you Tena and will miss you always and forever. You are with all those that you love and who love you on the other side. We know you are at peace. Love you more...
