Teodoro Garcia Jr., a cherished member of the Orange Grove community, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on January 18, 1940, in Ramirez, Texas, Teodoro devoted an impressive 40 years of his life to his small truck driving business in Caldwell, Idaho, where he became a beloved figure among his colleagues and clients alike.
Teodoro was known for his warm personality, with the remarkable ability to make a friend anywhere he went. His jovial nature was complemented by a sharp sense of humor; he was a jokester who could light up any room with his infectious laughter. In addition to his humor, he possessed a kind spirit that endeared him to those around him, showcasing a true sense of community throughout his life.
A faithful parishioner of St. John of the Cross Catholic Church in Orange Grove, Teodoro's dedication to his faith was evident in all aspects of his life. He found joy in sharing his passions with others, as he loved the outdoors, enjoyed fishing, and took great pleasure in barbecuing and preparing good food for family and friends.
Teodoro’s legacy will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. He is survived by his two children, Cynthia Garcia and Richard (Terry) Garcia, along with his cherished siblings Melba Polick and Homer Garcia. He leaves behind not only his immediate family but also a remarkable network of love, including 50 godchildren who will always remember his generous spirit and kindness.
He is reunited with his beloved wife of 58 years, Maria E. Garcia, whose memory remains embedded in the hearts of all who knew them together. He is also reunited with his parents, Teodoro and Emelina Garcia, as well as his siblings Lucy Wicker, Frances Cantu, Lupe Baker, and Alonso Garcia.
Teodoro's life will be honored with services held on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at St. John of the Cross Catholic Church. The day will begin with a visitation beginning at 10 AM, followed by a Holy Rosary at 10:30 AM, and a Mass at 11 AM. Following the Mass, Teodoro will be laid to rest at Saint Paul Cemetery in Bishop, Texas, at 12:30 PM.
