Teresa Ann Bufton, 65, passed away, Saturday September 27, 2025, at UW Health University Hospital-Madison, after an extended battle with cancer and the side effects of chemotherapy. Teresa was born March 15, 1960, in Rockford, the daughter of Clarence and Geraldine (Mayer) Janicke. She married Rodney Bufton on July 19, 1980. Teresa worked for General Casualty Insurance (QBE) as a rater in the commercial underwriting department. Teresa had many interests which included bird watching, wood burning, hunting with her husband, spending time with her dogs, Tank and Sassy, and more than anything else, being with her beloved grandchildren. She was a very caring person, spending many years as a foster parent. Sticking with her giving nature, Teresa donated her corneas with the hope of helping someone else.
Surviving are her parents Clarence and Geraldine Janicke; husband, Rodney Bufton of Freeport; daughters, Melissa Calderon of Freeport and Amanda (Steven) Coulthard of Lanark; son, Trevor Bufton of Freeport; brother, Michael Janicke; eight grandchildren Tanner, Collin, Korrie, Kenadi, Brynlie, Adaliah, Bryden, and Briggs; also surviving are two great-grandchildren, Hadley and Adaline.
Teresa was preceded in death by her sister, Deborah Kay Harms; and mother-in-law, Frieda Bufton.
Visitation from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm on Friday, October 3, 2025, at Burke Tubbs Funeral Home.
