Teresa “Terre” Ann Hanson Burkhart of Clintonville, Columbus, OH, passed away on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at the age of 68.
She was preceded in death by her father, Donald A. Hanson; mother, Alice E. Huffman; and brother, Gregory Hanson.
She is survived by her loving and devoted husband, Gerald Hammock, with whom she rekindled a beautiful love later in life after first dating in high school at Colonel White in Dayton, OH. They were a perfect match and adored each other endlessly for 17 fairytale-like years. They shared a deep love for their precious pup, Howard, who lives on with Gerald.
Above all, Terre was a devoted mother and a doting grandmother. Her greatest joy was her four children, whom she leaves behind: Taylor, Marshall (wife Ciara and son Ray), Ian, and Goldie (fiancé John), whom she raised with their father, Douglas Burkhart. She lovingly embraced her role as a grandmother, and her grandson, Ray, adored his “Gigi.”
She also leaves behind her beloved siblings: Michael (Katy) Hanson, Deborah Hanson, Anne (Hector) Santana, and Susan (Johnny) Huskey; her niece and nephews: Chad Duhamel, Jack Huskey, and Lainee Huskey; as well as her stepson, Brookes (Eric) Altneu-Hammock, and their children, Mabel and Miles.
To know Terre was to know laughter, silliness, and boundless creativity. She was a true “professional mom” who ad-libbed hilarious songs, invented endless games, and turned everyday moments into adventures filled with wisdom and life lessons. To her, art was best represented as a verb—“art-ing”—the process by which she shared her imagination with those around her, creating wonderful memories that will live on forever. Her home was always a vibrant reflection of her colorful soul.
She will be incredibly missed by all who were lucky enough to love her.
