Teresa “Tracy” Casey, 66, of Fremont, OH passed away on Monday, February 17, 2025 at Toledo ProMedica Hospital. She was born on January 25, 1959 in Fremont, OH to Thomas and Ann (Caine) Light Sr. Tracy was a 1977 graduate of St Joseph Catholic High School.
Tracy married Kevin M. Casey on April 30, 1982 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church and he preceded her in death on August 25, 2024. She worked at various banks in Fremont and the Cleveland area after high school and into the 1980’s. Her passion was working at Sacred Heart preschool and daycare for thirteen years and then at Green Spring therapy pool along with leading the arthritis class for ten years. Tracy enjoyed watching and attending Cleveland Indians and Cavaliers games. She was also an Ohio State Buckeyes fan along with her husband, Kevin. Tracy loved traveling south to warmer weather over the years, mainly to Ft. Myers Beach, Hilton Head Island, Myrtle Beach or anywhere there were palm trees.
She struggled for many years with the pain and fatigue of Systemic Lupus but always had a positive attitude and a smile for all in her life, including those she just passed on the street.
Tracy is survived by her daughter, Megan Casey; father, Tom Light, Fremont, OH; siblings, Tom (Cindy) Light Jr, Lisa (Al) Swaisgood, Tim (Beth) Light; brother and sisters-in-law, Kathy (Napoleon) DasGupta, Patricia Bush, Jim (Karenlee) Casey; six nephews and six nieces.
She is preceded in death by her mother, Ann Light; husband of forty-two years, Kevin Casey; father and mother-in-law, Dan and Marilyn Casey and brother-in-law, Daniel Bush.
Visitation will take place on Sunday, February 23, 2025 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Wonderly Horvath Hanes Funeral Home and Crematory, 425 E. State St, Fremont, OH 43420.
A Celebration of Life will follow at 6:00 pm at the funeral home. The family would like to invite you to please wear your Cleveland Indians, Cavs, or Ohio State gear to the service.
A private burial will take place at a later date at St. Joseph Cemetery, Fremont, OH.
